VMware Product Selector – Worldwide in iQuote

VmwareEarlier this year we announced the availability of a VMware Product Selector within iQuote EMEA. After some good utilisation we are now pleased to announce that this service is available Worldwide for all iQuote users.

The VMware Product Selector can be found in iQuote for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Once configuring a product, users can go to ‘View All’ in the options tab and select ‘VMware’. Upon doing so, the Product Selector will appear.

The Product Selector works as an intelligent filter working only with compatible, validated options for the system unit the user is configuring. The filter is split as follows:

  • Category
  • Product Range
  • Service Duration
  • License Type

VMware Selector live in iQuote

VMware SelectorAs a key HP Partner, VMware products have been available in iQuote for some time. In fact, there are several hundred VMware products to choose from in iQuote to help create the perfect solution.

It was identified that there are actually so many VMware products that it was proving difficult for users of the iQuote tool to know which selection to make. As such, HP, VMware and channelcentral have been working together to develop the VMware Selector.

The VMware Selector is a tool developed within iQuote which takes only compatible options with your HP system unit and displays them in categories. Users can then choose options to fit their requirements such as Product Range, Service Duration and Licence Type. iQuote will intelligently filter through hundreds of products and provide recommendations to the user making product selection simple.

VSA Dark Arts demystified (and free)

With HP Gen9 servers you now get 1TB of free Virtual Storage Appliance, and better still, it sets itself up for you! HP servers have a great feature called “Intelligent Provisioning”, when you use this wizard to setup your VMware or Hyper-V server it will ask if you want to install the VSA software too.  VSA is just the ticket to have shared storage.

iQuote HP – Software & Services Extended

Over the last week we have extended the software portfolio available from within iQuote HP for ProLiant. iQuote users can now select from:

  • Microsoft Windows (many versions).
  • Red Hat Linux
  • Novell SUSE Linux
  • HP Data Protector, Cluster Manager
  • VMware vSphere, View, VDI, vCenter
  • Citrix XenDesktop

In addition to the software licences and subscriptions iQuote also features associated services. It is important to note that the software packages listed are (to date) 100% HP part numbers.

With almost 1000 new parts appearing in iQuote there is some follow on activity planned to make the selection process more intuitive for iQuote users.
