HP iQuote & KVM Adapters

July 27, 2011

For HP ProLiant Rack-Mount Servers iQuote now prompts the user to add a KVM Adapter. We’ve used the Blue Warning in the Validation Checklist to recommend that you should offer a KVM Adapter as they are almost always required and rarely quoted. Once added the Blue Warning turns Green, but if the customer doesn’t need one it can be ignored as Blue Warnings are not critical.

Copy to Clipboard in iQuote

July 20, 2011

The Copy to Clipboard function has been extended to iQuote Europe following a successful US pilot. This functions allows Microsoft Internet Explorer iQuote Users to copy a Saved quote (part numbers and quantities) onto their clipboard. A Quote Save is required first, although a Save/Copy combo is planned.

Major Timesaver
The Copy to Clipboard function saves valuable time for many users who don’t want a fully formatted export document – they just want the parts and quantities as quickly as possible. Once you’ve clicked the Copy to Clipboard icon you can then paste into Excel, Word, Outlook or a range of business applications.

We would like to thank our US evaluators at Ingram Micro for their feedback on this function.

As an aside, if you get the Microsoft Internet Explorer “Allow Access” prompt everytime you click the icon, depending on your IS policies, you can configure the Browser to suppress this check. Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level and then look for Scripting: “Allow Programatic Clipboard Access” and tick enable. For optimum security we would recommend that you add http://www.channelcentral.net to your “Trusted Sites”, then make the changes against that zone rather than your general Internet zone. Always check with your IS Department before changing Browser Settings!

HP iQuote for PSG is growing

July 7, 2011

June 2011 saw our busiest iQuote Distributor in the UK quote more PSG Systems than ESSN Systems. Based on Exported System Quantity more systems were quoted for the HP PSG portfolio than HP ESSN. There were more HP ESSN quotes by far but this is an interesting trend.

At the same time the number of PSG Systems in iQuote, across USA and Europe has also increased hugely as we keep pace with the fast-moving product lifecycles for Notebooks, Desktops and Workstations. Around 100 new systems have been added this week alone.

iQuote Pricing Modification

July 6, 2011

For sites that display List Price iQuote now shows the user. If your iQuote runs on HP List Price (like iQuote No-IT) or your store defaults to List Price if no price is provided by the Host iQuote now states List Price next to the price so there is no confusion. This graphic shows this new feature (grey italics after the price).
